‘I read a news story that, in 1997, it was claimed over 600

people in Japan were rushed to hospitals suffering

convulsions after watching the Pokémon episode

‘Dennō Senshi Porygon’. The intense colours and

flashes on screen apparently caused epileptic-type

effects on viewers. The Pikachus’ combined energy,

however, forces the computer’s iTunes ‘Visualizer’ to

cause similar psychedelic effects to those in the

cartoon waking the boy. He becomes forever trapped

in a loop of bedside company.’
